What are the fundamental differences between the Mars and Saturn ranges?

What do you have to offer to buy in the range below 450 dollars?

What suggestions do you have for buying under 400 dollars?

Are these still good ? Anything conoarable for the price . Used good ?

Printing your pieces with higher tolerances may help as well. Though you will have to do a bit more filing, but that beats the cost of cast materials. 😊

Excellent review Mr V. I do like this printer and I think the tilt plate is the future. No matter what slicer I've ever used, I always go back to Chitubox ✌️

You could do the same with the free POVray plus OpenSCAD, but those are both "learn to code" tools. POVray can be scripted to turn geometry into a depth map, which OpenSCAD can then turn back into geometry.

Ahhh Vog, why dont you ever show the best resolution of the printer, you always print at that ugly 50 microns, makes no sense to review an 18micron printer if you show only 50 microns😑

Why do you actually show us how this is done, I've watched a dozen 3D vids; ''getting started'', ''complete first project'' etc, they are all done at warp speed, omitting critical steps, impossible to see menus, and choices selected, appearing that the presenters just want to show off how great they are. 😄 Thank you.

So in conclusion to the Mars 4 Ultra: same printing results, so no advantage at all here. Nice to have camera included now, tilt mechanism like the Prusa SL1 from years ago, autobed leveling. As a step backwards: On-switch and USB moved from the front to the side backwards, no airfilter possible and still no heater included, physically bigger printer with same printing area In my opinion I stick with my Mars 4 Ultra. Not worth the update. But thanks for the review

As someone with an original Elegoo Saturn, the Saturn 4 Ultra has me quite tempted to upgrade. While it still lacks a decent heater and the build plate seems like a nightmare to clean, pretty much everything else seems like a nice jump in specs. I've certainly had my fair share of issues with my original Saturn, but even just going from 50 micron pixel resolution and 0.05 layer height to 20/.02 is a huge difference when it comes to post-processing, particularly when painting with acrylics. Acrylic primers and paints pick up even the finest details, which means needing to sand some pretty fine layer/pixel lines.

I like this, I'm going to have to make a sled like that just to increase the function of my bandsaw. Thanks for sharing

That build plate looks a nightmare to clean. How do you get the resin out from between those "stilts" between prints?

I have a small time lapse of my print pealing off the build plate and the ai camera did not cause the print to stop. Lucky for me the other side of the print held on and the print did not fail but on the other side of the bed I did have a part in the resin vat and yet the ai camera did not catch it.

Great video as always. Have you had compression issues like the Saturn 4 Ultra? Mine started out fine but is now very compressed and been going back and forth with Elegoo to try to fix.

awesome.. So, no usb entrance for air filter.. hmm... I guess I'll end up making a hole on the wall of my apartment office room and install a exaustor there lmao.. A question that I have about the auto leveling features of the mars 5 ultra and saturn 4 ultra: can you manually calibrate anything if necessary? I usually calibrate my z index.. to remove elephant feet and to ensure that a 1mm thick piece printed directly on the build plate is actually 1mm. if the auto leveling already does that perfectly, awesome, but I got curious. Plus.. cleaning the build plate when changing resins seems to be.. ackward due to those rods.. but manageable, not too big.

293$ isn't bad honestly. Cool to see so many features packed in to this, looking at the jumps consumer resin printers have made over the last couple years is awesome to witness.

I actually like that they did what they did with the Mars 5 and 5 Ultra, there is now a very inexpensive path, and a higher quality path, and there is a serious difference between the Mars 5 and Mars 5 Ultra. You are not wrong about it not making sense between generations of 4 and 5, but just looking at 5 alone, it makes a lot of sense.

The speed issues are odd Vog. I find when I slice the exact same file on a modified Saturn profile and the Saturn 4 Ultra profile, it just about halves the time. And the makes since because the Ultra 4 completes a cycle in 5.5 seconds opposed to approximately 10 seconds on the original Saturn. To make 150mm/hour I'd have to use a massive layer height, but still the tilt is giving significant saving in time. Also saves me from tuning and cleaning the fails from tuning stuff like retraction speeds.

Price for pro version is now 200 bucks. No Mac though.

Perhaps you can answer a question. I have an electric furnace, bought it years ago now, used it a few times with mixed results melting copper. In all other smelting operations I've seen there is the top hole for expelling gas, but this one I have has this foamlike membrane. Have you encountered this? Does this need to be punched out and was just some manufacturing oversight? Or is this some kind of indicator of material specific melting? Also some time ago now, I remember swapping out the internal ceramic with the heating coil hoping to find a break in the heating element being a cause for faulty melt. It was fine, and a huge pain to reassemble. I noticed a layer of something coating my thermocouple rod. Is this typical? I wasn't sure if the rod had annexed some graphite from usage, I bought it used. I didn't know if this should be removed as a hindrance to the temperature read or if this was a normal thermal paste of sorts to prevent oxidization. Any insight would help me out, thank you.

"Why bother?" I keep un levelling my build plate every time I take something off it, as I don't have the best dexterity, i'm very heavy handed

I have the Mage Pro live in aus, creatity should have put a heater in the mage, mage pro and the mage S. i print in a unlined shed so winter its 5c and 40c in summer. I know someone that put a anycubic heater in the printer, fits where the pump goes.
